"Tribute To Anna Nicole...A Human Being"...

Anna Nicole Smith was an Icon. Like it or not, she was. She may not have lived her life as most people do but then again...she wasn't most people. It is that simple. She didnt drive a mini-van, have a boring, predictable, mundane life surrounded by a tired old husband, a thousand dollar a month mortgage and 2.5 kids in ballet and soccer practice. In fact, that was not the stuff her dreams were made of. I don't think that was ever even an option.

Anna Nicole was a pioneer, a fighter, a rebel, an overcomer who realized each and every goal she set out to achieve. How many of us can actually say that? She was also very smart. A graduate from "The School of Hard Knocks" but very smart nonetheless. The dumb blonde act was all a persona having nothing to do with Anna in reality. Yes! I've heard how dumb and out of it everybody thinks she was but she couldnt have been that dumb because she used every single tool she had to overcome a terribly rotten childhood, hardships most of us can't even imagine, shyness and extreme lack of self esteem and she pulled herself up by the bootstraps to become the one and only, unforgettable, American Icon, multi~millonaire that she is today. Hard to argue with that kind of success.

Even in death and with all the shrouded mysteries that seemed to plague her lately, she was a wonderful human being who was a great Mother and friend. How many examples do you think she had to go by? My guess? Not many! She was just trying to make it. I believe that she had a good heart and I believe that she meant no harm to anyone. Can you even imagine what she would have achieved if she'd had just one real friend or partner or mentor or even one single person she could actually depend upon? I can! Or how about one person who wasnt in it for the money or pseudo fame that came with hanging around her? Most of the people that gravitated to her were losers who couldnt make it in their own right and she allowed that because deep down Anna Nicole was frightened and lonely. But most times, she was very powerful and people are still afraid of very powerful people, especially powerful women, which left her with little choice about the company she kept. I'm sad that she felt lonely and tired and used. I really am. And I wonder why no one was really there for her. Someone in her sphere should have cared for her...hell there was enough of them around.

Some time this week, I heard one reporter say..."What kind of friend hangs with you for a while and then goes out and sells your life stories about your moments of weakness or vulnerability." and I heard myself say, "Yeah! Who does that?" And who does? Love and friendships may come and go, but betrayal by your own loved ones is forever and is of course, a source of the deepest kind of pain and is always very difficult to overcome.

It isn't often that I care much for or think about celebrities. Most days I dont care who gets a nose job or a record deal or who gets married, divorced or whatever ridiculous things celebs are noted for, but the moment I read that Anna Nicole was dead....I was very sad....for us...but then again happy...for her...because I know she went home to be with her son whom she loved and trusted with all her heart. God saw to it that she didnt feel that familiar pain anymore because he is merciful and forgiving...even if we cannot or will not understand that.

So, Rest in peace dear sweet Ms. Anna Nicole. Thank you for your many smiles. God speed your soul. You will be missed here on this plane. Namaste'!

Sincerely,
Roby

"Don't Let Congress Ruin the Internet"...

Dear Friends,

I thought you might be interested in the campaign to save Internet freedom at www.savetheinternet.com.

Unless we speak out to our members of Congress they could move to allow large telephone and cable companies to control what you do, where you go and what you watch online.

To learn more, check out the new YouTube video by clicking the tile above or by going to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWt0XUocViE

Visit the URL above to check out what's at stake and send a loud message directly to the Congress.
