"Decent People 2007"...

(as written & emailed to me by a very dear friend that I respect)

I have spoken with a lot of people on this trip and come to the conclusion that 2007 is the year that...all decent people say !!!! Enough !!!! With all those who cheat on us, threaten to cheat on us, lie to us, violate our privacy, falsely accuse us while actively engaging in far WORSE behavior than they falsely accuse us of, try to entrap us, make us cry, break our hearts, pretend to be true friends, abuse us, abandon us, steal our time, steal our money, waste our blood, sweat and tears, fail to support us in an emotional way, stab us in the back, steal our energy, risk our souls and break all of their promises. Sin...all of it, why God hates it, cause of the damage it does...that is what I want to say most.

*Yes!! Enough!!! We each have to decide what we will and will not accept and as you have said in the past...learn to draw new lines in the sand. But playing the devil's advocate just a bit here, sometimes these little atrocities force us to wake up and re~examine the people, places and things in our lives! It's hell to operate on auto~pilot 24/7 trusting that all is well in the Universe without our full attention! I believe that even in the closest relationships, one must always be open to the possiblities of goodness yes certainly, but also we must remain vigil to the fact that betrayal is also a possibility since it seems to be human nature for people to forget who they are, where they came from, who helped them get there and under what "contract" the situation derived. Apparently in todays' world, being trustworthy and living a life of integrity and honour are quite subjective. I'm not sure why that is. And I'm not saying that we shouldn't trust because trust is integral to everything thing we do in this life, but what I am saying is that we should all remain awake and alert. I know by heart that it is quite shocking when the people who are supposed to love us, protect us and act in our best interest do not however, and all I can say is that it's best to sport a stout constitution, a clear mind, a good heart, good intentions, and have your eyes wide open all the time. We are not responsible for the actions of other's but we are responsible for our actions all of the time. That will never change. Hey!.....You can rest when you're dead! LOL
