"Cooper & Company...A 360' View?"...

Important letters, speeches, and interviews of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, collected from various Internet sources as shown at http://presidentahmadinejad.blogspot.com/ To view, simply click on the title above, "Cooper & Company...A 360' View?"...for a direct link to this reporting blog!

"Message to the American People: In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful"

"The legitimacy, power and influence of a government do not emanate from its arsenals of tanks, fighter aircraft, missiles or nuclear weapons. Legitimacy and influence reside in sound logic, quest for justice and compassion and empathy for all humanity. The global position of the United States is in all probability weakened because the administration has continued to resort to force, to conceal the truth, and to mislead the American people about its policies and practices."

"Is it not possible to put wealth and power in the service of peace, stability, prosperity and the happiness of all peoples through a commitment to justice and respect for the rights of all nations, instead of aggression and war?"

Perception is damn tricky business! Personally, I am praying for peaceful resolutions & goodwill towards our leaders and the people of this country & of every nation! There is a way, we just have to find it and be open to the possiblities of change. Change for the better of course, because also in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., "An eye for an eye leaves everybody blind." Hey! You know what I always say, "Change your mind, change your life." Or in this case, the lives of countless many. God bless!

Hugs,
Roby

In Honour of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday today, I post the following:

"I speak as an American to the leaders of my own nation. The great initiative in this war is ours. The initiative to stop it must be ours."

King, Martin Luther, Jr., Strength to Love. New York, Harper & Row, 1963. Sixteen sermons and one essay entitled "Pilgrimage to Nonviolence."

"Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true."

Dr. King's words ring true four decades after he spoke them. We are so close and yet so far...ahhhhh to begin again!...Maybe one day we will get the lessons & teachings of our predecessors...but then again maybe not?
